Thanks for visiting the Baptist Foundation of South Carolina stewardship and estate planning site! It is my personal prayer and passion that this be a tangible ministry in your life.
We are told that approximately 70% of Americans do not have a current will. Wow! The ramifications of this on children, surviving spouses, on taxes and fees is immeasurable. So, why do so many fail to plan for the inevitable? I think there are many reasons for this. Fear of dying, procrastination, confusion about the estate planning process, the cost of creating a will… and more.
Actually, planning your estate can be a wonderful process where you have an opportunity to reflect upon God’s blessings in your life… your family, the possessions that God has allowed you to manage, and your faith. In order to assist you in this process, we have provided some “layman friendly” estate planning information that can enable you to protect your family as well as be a wise steward of the assets that God has entrusted to you to use for His glory while you are here on this earth.
The Stewardship, Wills, and Trusts link below provides over 100 pages of helpful information about estate planning and giving options. As you browse around, you will find important information that will help you as you consider options for your family and your assets.
If you’re ready to get down to business, the Foundation offers two options to assist you:
You can scedule an appointment with an Estate Specialist through PhilanthroCorp, a Christ-centered estate planning firm. The estate specialist will assist you in designing a charitable estate plan customized to your family’s needs and your charitable desires. This estate planning assistance is comprehensive and an Estate Specialist will continue working with you until your plan is to your satisfaction. Best of all, it’s free of charge! You will, however, need to pay your attorney or, if you don’t have an attorney, a network attorney suggested by PhilanthroCorp at a quoted rate.
If you would like to see what others think about PhilanthroCorp, click the link below to view a video about the process:
If you’d like an Estate Specialist to contact you, simply complete the short form below and someone from PhilanthroCorp will contact you in the next few days.
If you’d like the “do it all by myself” approach, you can click on the Estate Plan Organizer (EPO) link below and walk yourself through a guided tutorial/data gathering process. All of the information you log in is confidential. The EPO does not ask for social security numbers or bank account numbers. And, if you establish your personal log in and password, you can continue working on your plan for 60 days. This will give you time to think about your wishes and gather needed information. At the end, you can print it and take it to your personal attorney or ask for help. No one will see your entries unless you submit at the end and ask for one of your friends at the Baptist Foundation of South Carolina or our partners at PhilanthroCorp to review your information and contact you.
So, grab a cup of coffee or tea, kick off your shoes and start planning today!
Thank you for allowing YOUR Foundation to serve you!
